Shipping, Delivery, and In-Store Pickup Policy
Shipping and Delivery
Genier’s Appliances offers in-home delivery within select regions of British Columbia. At this time, we do not provide international shipping.
In some locations, we may offer shipping services via a third-party carrier. If this option is available, the carrier details will be shared in your shipping confirmation email. Additional charges may apply if you request that your order be shipped instead of delivered by our team.
Upon request and availability, we may also offer additional services, such as removal of old appliances or relocation of appliances within your home. These services are optional and subject to additional fees.
In-Store Pickup
You may have the option to pick up your purchase from a Genier’s Appliances retail store or warehouse. To complete an in-store pickup, please bring the following:
- A copy of your order invoice (emailed to you at the time of purchase), and
- A valid piece of government-issued photo identification.
If someone else is picking up on your behalf, you must notify us in advance. We may assist with loading the product into your vehicle, but Genier’s Appliances is not liable for any damage that may occur to the product or vehicle during loading.
You are responsible for:
- Measuring all entryways and spaces to confirm that your product will fit through doors and hallways and into the desired location.
- Arranging proper transport, securing the item in your vehicle, and ensuring it is protected during transit and safely unloaded at your destination.
Your Responsibilities Before Delivery
To ensure a successful delivery, you must:
- Measure all relevant spaces to ensure your product fits where it’s intended to be installed, including doorways, hallways, and entry points.
- Disconnect any wiring or attachments from old appliances that will be moved or removed.
- Make sure the required electrical and plumbing connections are in place for the new product. (Please note: Genier’s Appliances staff cannot perform any electrical or plumbing work.)
Failure to complete these steps may result in additional charges or a rescheduled delivery.
Delivery Acceptance
In some cases, you may provide us with specific delivery instructions, such as requesting that the product be left at a designated spot if you're not home. Otherwise, someone aged 19 or older must be present to accept the delivery. Identification and a copy of your invoice must be available on-site.
If no one is present, and no alternate instructions are provided, we may leave the product with another adult at the delivery address or, in certain circumstances (e.g. construction or renovation sites), leave the item on site as instructed.
Once delivery is completed, you are considered to have accepted the product, and Genier’s Appliances is no longer responsible for any loss or damage.
A failed delivery due to incorrect information or unpreparedness may result in additional delivery charges.
Rescheduling a Delivery
If you need to change your delivery date or time, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance. Changes requested with less notice may not be accommodated and could incur extra fees.
Delivery Delays
While we aim to meet scheduled dates, delivery and pickup timelines are not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to supplier, logistical, or weather-related issues and may happen without notice.
Risk of Loss and Liability
Ownership and risk of damage to the product transfer to you:
- Upon delivery to your home or designated location by Genier’s Appliances or a third-party shipper.
- Upon pickup if you choose to collect your product in-store.
Genier’s Appliances is not responsible for:
- Any issues caused by failure to follow this policy.
- Damage to property during delivery, installation, or removal.
- Inability to deliver, install, or use the product due to space constraints or lack of preparation.
